A comprehensive tour of Sri Lanka dwelling into its historical past & its natural beauty with a Wild Life Safari, visits to tea plantations in the hills and beaches. It includes a few days stay at a beach hotel in the south of Sri Lanka. The tour is an ideal one as it is complemented by Colonial style accommodation where ever possible at a reasonable rate, taking in the rich history of Sri Lanka, fascinating culture and the scenery.

1

Day 1 Airport / Colombo

Meeting with Assistance at the airport upon arrival by our Representative, later your tour chauffeur will pick you up at the Exit Gate of the arrival terminal to commence the Tour. Then you will be transferred to Colombo City. Colombo – the commercial and financial center of Sri Lanka which links the past with the present. This is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and colonial buildings and ruins. Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 2 Colombo / Negombo / Anuradhapura

After breakfast, leave for Anuradhapura. En-route visit Negombo traditionally a Fishing Village with catamarans by the beach at the backdrop to the Negombo scenery; which later developed as a fishing marketing center.  PM arrival in Anuradhapura which is known to have the largest number of ancient monuments of a great civilisation. You will witness many stone sculptures and popular stone Buddha Statues. Overnight stay at Anuradhapura.

Day 3 Anuradhapura / Avukana / Sigiriya

Breakfast at hotel and proceed to Sigiriya, En route visit Aukana Buddha Statue (30ft) in height is the most famous stone sculpture of this village which was sculpted during the reign of Dhatusena in the 5th century. PM visit Sigiriya, famous for its historical rock fortress with landscaped gardens and water fountains and the famous paintings of the “Sigiriya Apsara or Damsels of Sigiriya”. In the evening relax & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Medirigiriya / Sigiriya

After breakfast an excursion to Polonnaruwa – the second ancient capital city for over three centuries with many well-preserved ruins of palaces and monasteries. The Parakrama Samudra (means the Ocean of Parakrama) is a very large manmade lake in Polonnaruwa built during the rule of The King Parakrama Bahu the Great. Evening visit Medirigiriya. The Medirigiriya Vatadage is on a high circular stage. Although this is a Ruin, the site has fewer natural damages. Return to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 5 Sigiriya / Dambulla / Matale / Nalanda Gedige / Kandy

After breakfast leave for Kandy. En-route visit Dambulla. Later visit the ancient Dambulla cave complex also known as the Royal Golden Rock Cave Temple. The area is also known for bird watching. En route visit Nalanda Gedige the Abu Simbel of Sri Lanka. Nalanda Gedige is a remarkable archaeological site in Sri Lanka which features Buddhist – Hindu hybrid Architecture, visit a spice garden and a batik factory in Matale. Evening arrive at the hotel in Kandy, the last Kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka and the Royal Capital under the King’s Rule until the British Invasion in 1815. Then visit the most sacred Buddhist establishment in Sri Lanka – the Temple of Tooth at the evening ceremony. Dinner & Overnight stay in Kandy

Day 6 Kandy / Pinnawela / Kandy

Breakfast at hotel, in the morning leave for Pinnawala about one-hour drive from Kandy to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, one of the most popular attractions in Sri Lanka. It fosters the biggest herd of captive elephants in the world. Witness and feed the baby elephants and watch the elephants bathing in the nearby river in the morning and in the afternoon. PM site seeing of the Kandy City, the 2nd highest tourist visiting city in Sri Lanka. A complete tour around the Bogambara lake is relaxing for its cool breeze and it also gives an insight to the way of life in Kandy.  You can visit the Kandy Museum too. In the evening you can enjoy a Cultural Dance. Later return to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 7 Kandy / Peradeniya / Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, well known for having the largest collection of orchids in Asia and other large variety of plants. Pm leave for Nuwara Eliya – the center of the hill country which is also known as the ‘Little England’. En route visit a tea plantation and witness the manufacture of the world-famous Ceylon tea.  There are plenty of eye-catching and heart-touching places like the Gregory’s Lake, Race Course, Victoria Park, The Golf Club, and the old Brick Post Office Building. Overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya.

Day 8 Nuwara Eliya / Ella / Buduruwagala / Yala

After breakfast leave for Tissamaharama region stop at Ella to admire the magnificent view then visit Buduruwagala. This small town is used as a base for plenty of trekking expeditions to the surrounding countryside. Some of the places you could see in Ella are the Ella Gap, Rawana Ella Falls, Little Adams Peak and Bambaragala Peak among many other varied pleasant walks with stunning scenery. Later visit Buduruwagala. You can visit seven colossal figures carved out of a rock face at Buduruwagala. In the late afternoon a safari in the Yala National Park and enjoy the wilderness as you cruise around in a jeep. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 Kataragama / Weligama / Galle / Beach Stay

After breakfast, visit Kataragama – another great pilgrim shrine dedicated to a popular Hindu deity ‘Skanda ‘. Kataragama Esala Maha Perahara is a ritualistic possession held on the Esala Full moon Poya Day which falls on July – August. Later you will leave to South Coast, En route view the stilt fisherman of Weligama. Then visit Galle, a city with a colourful history. The magnificent Portuguese – Dutch fort, declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO is the most popular site of the town. The journey includes a stay at a beach hotel. In the evening relax, enjoy your beach overnight stay.

Relax at the beach hotel, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11 Beach / Airport

After breakfast transfer to the airport to connect to your flight for departure. Rooms till 12h00 in the afternoon.

Five nights on half-board basis (breakfast & dinner) and five nights on bed & breakfast basis (breakfast only) – Total  Ten Nights.
On these Days 5,6,8,9 & 10 dinner will be included.
Air-conditioned private vehicle with an English speaking chauffeur will be provided (Private Tour).
No vehicle will be provided on any free days if any (as per program). Last day Transfer to the airport included.
Fuel & local assurance for vehicle & passengers while travelling included.
The chauffeur will look after his own meals & accommodation.
Basic Private Jeep to visit Yala reserve included for half a day – (Entrance fees to be paid directly by clients at the reserve). If for any reason the mentioned reserve is closed, we shall make arrangements to visit another reserve.

All entrance fees as per program to be paid directly only in Sri Lankan Rupees and it will cost around USD 190 per person.
Personal spending (tips, laundry, mini bar, telephone, fax, beverages etc.)
The right to use video cameras at sites – most places will allow you to use video cameras once the entrance fee is paid except at The Temple of the Tooth in Kandy & the Pinnawela Elephant orphanage (USD 05 per Videocamera per location).
Medical expenses, travel insurance, international flights.

Sri Lanka Visa charges USD 50 per person  & for SAARC countries USD 20 per person, can be obtained directly via the internet please visit this site. http://www.eta.gov.lk/. The process is very simple payments can be paid online & with the confirmation document print out & code you have to submit passport on arrival only. The passport has to be valid for six months from the day of arrival return air tickets & sufficient funds or reservations arranged for the holiday should be with you. All nationals have to obtain a visit / tourist visa prior to arrival.

There has to be a minimum of two clients or more per booking.

Kandy Perahara Period for ten nights from 21st to 30th August 2023 – only if clients are spending the nights in Kandy during the Perahara Period, a extra  supplement will be applicable – USD 60 per room per night extra for only Kandy overnights.

  • Please change foreign currency in to SLRS at the airport after customs, there are many 24hrs bank counters at the airport as all these payments have to be made only in SLRS. No credit card payments are accepted at these sites.  Subject to change slightly sometimes details are provided with rates as applicable at the moment. (Children under 12 years will be charged half rate 50%)
  • For Reservations during,  Super Peak Period – 21 December 2023 to 10 January 2024  period please contact us for further details. As Peak supplements apply at hotels during this period & this will change according to the category of hotels and actual days of stay at each hotel.
  • If required we can modify the program to have the last night in a beach hotel south of Colombo or in Negombo  then proceed to the airport. Any other modifications to the program can be arranged as per individual preferences.
  • CANCELLATION POLICY –  You may cancel your booking at any time prior to commencement of  the reservations which has to be acknowledged by our company in writing. If the cancellation is made 30 days before the first date of the reservation we will retain your 1st small deposit to cover our costs. If the cancellation is notified less than 29 days prior to the first date of reservation following additional cancellation charges will apply.

  • No show or early departure 100% of total invoice
  • No more restrictions regarding Covid vaccinations etc. All tourists are allowed entry no requirement of Covid vaccination proof anymore in Sri Lanka with effect from 06th Dec 2022. Anyway we must check back again a few days before arrival if there are any new changes.
